Keep the night lit
The night runs on what people are brave enough to write. Membership pays for the screening, the storage and the keeping — and gives you the parts that only make sense when nothing is rationed.

Why there's a price at all
Someone reads every secret
Two screening layers run before a secret is ever shown, and reports are answered within a day. That is the part that keeps this place habitable, and it is the part that costs money. No ads, no selling what you wrote, no tracking you across the internet — the only thing funding it is membership.
